Jay and Red

It all began with taking care of some horses. After the week was done, I knew I was hooked and had to have a horse. After many discussions with my wife we put our house up for sale and bought a house in Arlington with some acreage. Little did I know I picked the right area because this is how I met Dennis Wright. I ended up like a lot of people getting a horse from a neighbor of my cousins who needed to get rid of their horse. After hours (5) of trying everything to get him in the trailer, once I got him home, I really only had a small idea of what to do with him. We had a huge vet bill that first year, every time Red even looked at me funny I called the vet, from his food to his cooperation with everything trying to pick his feet, everything about him was a challenge. It was so frustrating and many times I wondered if it was a mistake when I decided to get Red. My wife, being the type that can tell you what to do, but can't actually do it, thought she had to take the situation over and while shopping saw a poster about a natural horseman class given by Dennis Wright. She called the number and left our phone number with my name! When Dennis called I talked to him and signed up for the class. So began my relationship with my horse and Dennis, which I had no idea could exist. Dennis has taught me that a horse is not only something to ride but that he is part of the family and when you treat your horse with respect and love they will let you into their world which is a world like no other. I had no idea a horse could have so much character. With the tools that Dennis taught me for having a relationship with my horse, Red is more than happy to come to me when called, lets me saddle him, and most of all we have fun when we ride. Red has also traveled many miles in a trailer, this all coming from having a relationship with Red. I have been to countless other classes that really taught nothing more but forcing your horse either by fear or hitting into doing the task. Dennis' technique is far advanced but one that anyone, even the beginner like me, can use to have a relationship with their horse. I highly recommend Dennis, anyone from the beginner to the advanced horse person will benefit, you could sit through the same class many times and learn something new every time.
