I started riding Wild Bill, my 9 year-old Quarter Horse, about a year ago. We had some issues but I figured we just needed some classes together. We took our dreaded weekly classes all summer and fall and really nothing improved. We spent A LOT of time just riding in tiny circles in the arena, so that Bill wouldn't run away with me. I really didn't need to hear "keep your heals down", I needed to know how to ride my horse- safely. I got all kinds of advice to no avail & the standing opinion was "get a new horse". Finally through some friends I met Dennis Wright. That was about 4 months ago of bi-weekly classes and everything is different now- Bill and I are actually having fun together! I can't remember the last time he threatened to buck me off and 95% of the time he walks calmly down the trail without jigging (which was a huge exhausting problem before). Now I have a happy respectful horse that actually wants to spend time with me.
Bill and I still have things to work on but now that we have come this far, I realize that the possibilities are endless. Dennis is such a patient & efficient teacher, not only does he really care to make a difference, but he also expects you to do your homework in between classes which helps you keep focused & on track. I feel that I have learned so much in such a short period of time & reached such great results. I would highly recommend Dennis Wright to any rider at any level. I now understand that once you get the relationship with your horse, you can truly do anything.
