Hi Dennis,
I wanted to thank you again so much for the clinic at the beach a couple of weeks ago. I came back to our barn and have been excited to try your methods on all 6 school horses and a few of the boarder's horses as well. Fabulous results in just minutes, I can't imagine if everyone continued to work with these horses, even a couple days a week, how great they would be! I put Jon (the bay arabian with the fuzzy tail) and Sheza (the fat little quarter horse with chestnut jiggles about her) in the arena together, and for fun I had a couple of carrots. Well Sheza did her work expecting a carrot and then Jon did his work, and Sheza just kept butting in between us for more rewards. She was sidepassing the entire arena 180 feet of it to get me to notice her....I should have known such a chunky monkey would be so food motivated!!!
Jon will sidepass up to the mounting block now and allow his rider to get on or off from it. After 10 years of not getting near it and having it catered over to him from his previous owner. He will even side pass over to it without a halter on! Also just wanted to let you know we had non-sticking snowflakes, enough for
a great picture on a trail ride, I rode 3 hours bareback.
My only regret was that I didn't have a bucket of carrots to drown my horse in at that very moment. I absolutely love her, the horse that is! I want to clone her!!!! She just makes me look good.... I can imagine that must be how Dennis Wright feels every time he does a clinic!!! Would you believe the next morning I put my 2 year old on this same little mare and she tippy toed around the arena so delicately with her just in a halter! And then after that a student from the Washington State Blind school came to ride and I turned the two of them loose together. The young lady likes to trot and Sheza offered her slowest jog for her rider. I've had this horse less than a month and I am so energized to work with her, I can't wait to see how far she comes in a few more months! Hope you are having a great week,
